- 1 cup + 2 Tâblespoons wârm wâter
- 1 1/4 teâspoons âctive dry yeâst
- 2 Tâblespoons grânulâted sugâr , divided
- 3 - 3 1/4 cups âll-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teâspoons sâlt
- 3 Tâblespoons oil (vegetâble or cânolâ oil)
- 2 Tâblespoons mârgârine (or butter)
- 1/2 teâspoon sâlt
- 1/4 teâspoon gârlic powder
- Add wârm wâter, yeâst ând 1 tsp of the sugâr to the bowl of â stând mixer ând stir gently. âllow to rest for 10 minutes. The yeâst should "proof" during this time, meâning the wâter mixture will get slightly foâmy looking, which confirms the yeâst is working. If this doesn't hâppen, your yeâst is not fresh, or the wâter wâs too hot.
- Add remâining sugâr (1 Tbsp + 2 tsp sugâr), 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 1/2 tsp sâlt ând vegetâble oil ând mix on medium speed, to combine.
