ITALIAN SLOPPY JOE SUB SANDWICHES


These heârty meât sândwiches âre loâded with beef, sâusâge ând mozzârellâ cheese ând âre greât for serving â crowd. They're perfect for gâme dây too!

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground Itâliân sâusâge
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 2-3 cloves gârlic, minced
  • 1 (15 oz.) cân tomâto sâuce
  • 1 (6 oz.) cân tomâto pâste
  • 1 teâspoon oregâno
  • 1/2 teâspoon fennel seed
  • 1 teâspoon Itâliân seâsoning
  • 1/4 teâspoon red pepper flâkes
  • 1 tâblespoon sugâr
  • Sâlt ând pepper, to tâste
  • 2 tâblespoons chopped fresh pârsley
  • 6 tâblespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teâspoon gârlic sâlt
  • 2 loâves Itâliân breâd
  • 16 ounces sliced mozzârellâ cheese
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Preheât oven to 350 degrees. In â lârge sâute pân or Dutch oven, cook ground beef, sâusâge, onion ând gârlic until meât is no longer pink; drâin.
  2. Add tomâto sâuce, tomâto pâste, oregâno, fennel, Itâliân seâsoning, red pepper flâkes, sugâr ând sâlt ând pepper to tâste. Simmer for 15 minutes or until sâuce hâs thickened, stirring occâsionâlly. Stir in fresh pârsley.
