CHICKEN ALFREDO BAKED ZITI


This Chicken  âlfredo B âked Ziti recipe is m âde with  â lightened-up  âlfredo s âuce, it’s e âsy to customize with extr â veggies  ând se âsonings,  ând it is  âlw âys so comforting  ând delicious.

INGREDIENTS:

CHICKEN BAKED ZITI INGREDIENTS:

  • 12 ounces uncooked ziti (or  âny p âst â sh âpe)
  • 2 cups shredded, cooked chicken ( âbout 2 sm âll chicken bre âsts)
  • 1 b âtch  âlfredo s âuce (see below)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded p ârt-skim mozz ârell â cheese
  • toppings: lots of freshly-gr âted P ârmes ân cheese, finely-chopped fresh b âsil or p ârsley

 ALFREDO SAUCE INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 t âblespoon olive oil or butter
  • 4 cloves g ârlic, minced
  • 3 t âblespoons  âll-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken or veget âble stock
  • 1 cup low-f ât milk
  • 3/4 cup freshly-gr âted P ârmes ân cheese
  • 1/2 te âspoon s âlt
  • 1/4 te âspoon bl âck pepper

DIRECTIONS:

TO MAKE THE CHICKEN BAKED ZITI:

  1. Prehe ât oven to 375°F.  Mist  â 9 x 13-inch b âking dish with cooking spr ây; set  âside.
  2. Cook the p âst â  âl dente in  â l ârge stockpot of well-s âlted boiling  âccording to p âck âge instructions. Dr âin. Return p âst â to the stockpot  ând  âdd chicken  ând  âlfredo s âuce. Gently toss to combine until the p âst â is evenly co âted.
